How does the apex-XK 1500® rig work?

From the dedicated shipping skid for the mast, to the unified skids for the solids control equipment, the APEX-XK 1500® rig was designed to improve move times between locations. With the top drive and block remaining in the mast during transit, the hydraulic cylinders raise (and lower) the mast during rig up operations.

Where are drilling rigs made?

Most new onshore rigs, both drilling and work over rigs, are built by OEMs in China. In the US, the larger vertically integrated land drillers have in-house manufacturing operations, so they will outsource some equipment construction, but assemble the new rigs at their own facilities.
